Friends and strawberry shortcake

Last night I went to our friends' Kenny and Kelly's friendship group, with my husband Ray. We all brought a dish, Kenny did a short teaching about dying to self and letting Christ live in us, and most of all, we had fun. I saw some friends I had not seen in months, and it was so great to see them! Now,THIS is church!

We sat around, eating hot taco soup, turkey-cheese sandwiches on Hawaiian sweet bread, triangle-shaped slices of tortillas spread with garlic hummus, fresh kiwi fruit and blackberries, and finally strawberry shortcake with whipped cream.

I thank God for blessings like these....friends and strawberry shortcake. It doesn't get much better than that.

"Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, For God has already accepted your works. Let your garments always be white, and let your head lack no oil. Live joyfully with the wife (spouse) whom you love all the days of your vain life which He has given you under the sun, all your days of vanity; for that is your portion in life and in the labor which you perform under the sun."
